All of the health information out there can be overwhelming and it makes it even harder to know what to do to be healthy (this is called information overload and it tends to lead to even more in-action). Should you be vegan or paleo? Should you intermittent fast or eat six small meals per day? What's the best type of exercise, weight lifting or cardio? Don't forget about meditation and stress techniques! All of these different aspects to your health are important, but where do you start...

You and I will work together over a period of time (either in person or online) to develop a plan for achieving long term health, because my goal is to be Your Partner in Health and to help you live a life full of health and happiness, naturally.
You may be wondering who I am and why I can help you. My name is Sarah Josey and I'm a Clinical Herbalist and Clinical Nutritionist. I studied bio-chemistry before going on to study herbs and nutrition and then opened my own store and clinic where I've been working with clients for the past three years. I continue to stay current on herbalism, nutrition, and health related topics so that I know I'm giving you the best possible information. I'm also an avid self-experimenter, after all, how can I recommend something if I've never tried it myself?
My passions lie in helping people become the healthiest and happiest they can be by working with their body’s innate healing ability, and I do this by working with food, herbs, and other natural methods.
After I discovered the power of herbs and the great effect which proper nutrition can have on health, I quickly developed a desire to share this information with others and help them to transform their own lives, which is how you ended up finding me here.
I knew I was not eating healthy and wanted to do an elimination diet to due all of my gastrointestinal issues and in general having low energy and being fatigued throughout the day. I didn't want to do a fly by night cleanse and wanted someone I trusted and who was knowledgeable to take me through the process.
I was worried that I would "cheat" and screw it all up. That I wouldn't have the motivation to do it for that long. That it would be really time intensive and hard to follow.
Instead I found all of the easy and tasty recipes and the meal plan to be my saving grace! It took all of the hard work out if it for me as to what to eat and I just had to set aside part of a Sunday to make up a couple of dishes for the week. MUCH easier than I had thought! Also, after that first few days of feeling awful, the benefits came on quickly and they far outweighed the negatives and kept me going, even after the program was done.
I learned healthy eating is much easier than I thought! I learned the importance of always being prepared. I gained a ton of energy and my mood stabilized. I felt more self-confident. I lost close to 10 pounds. I learned a lifestyle of eating I plan to stick to throughout my life with only occasional cheats. I learned I can do whatever I put my mind to!
My favorite part was the recipes and the meal plans, down to the shopping lists. SUPER helpful!
I also liked that we had to check in to hold us accountable as it's nice to know what others are going through. I liked the inspirational quotes each day and the fact we continuously got info on different food groups throughout the program. I feel I learned A LOT!

We are a culture of DIY, where the internet has all the answers, but it's really not the best way to go, especially when it comes to figuring out how to achieve long-lasting health.
We start by having a one-on-one session that lasts about 60 minutes where we talk about your health history, health goals, and specific needs. I want to get to know you figure out how I can best support you.
After our initial session I’ll make recommendations for where to start, typically this includes herbal formulas, supplements, and nutrition changes to make. During our time we'll talk about how fast or how slow you want changes to happen, depending on what works for you and your lifestyle. I want everything we do together to be sustainable and make sense for your life, because if you won't do it, then it doesn't help you.
Expect to spend some extra money on supplements after your first appointment. It’s not a crazy amount, but I do have some basics that I recommend for almost all of my clients, and trust me, it will make a big difference. And of course I will work with you on narrowing things down to fit them in to your budget if need be. Most people are spending about $215 the first month, which is often the most you'll spend because you may need to get everything I suggest if you don’t have it already.
After the first session, about 1 week later when you receive all of your program materials, we’ll talk again and get down to the nitty gritty stuff like measurements, your specific eating plan, and where to start when it comes to other lifestyle factors.
Every other week (or more often if needed), we'll have a 30-minute check-in so we can make sure you’re staying on track.
My goal is to make everything as easy as possible so that you move in the direction of health with as little frustration as possible (though no promises on not getting frustrated...it's a part of the natural struggle that everyone goes through when changing their life). I want ot you become self-sufficient in your health and help guide you and give you the tools you need to live healthily from now on forward.

The only difference between the in person and online versions is that you have to come and sit in my office for in person visits - which is great if you live near me, not so great if you don't, so I offer both to make things flexible. In fact, you can always switch it up halfway through, I just like to know ahead of time for scheduling purposes.
